Intro For The BLS Provider


Summary

This course covers fundamental topics including American Heart Basic Life Support (CPR), emergency vehicle driving, and preparatory topics for the EMT. This course is required to be completed for final acceptance into the EMT program. An orientation for the upcoming EMT semester will be held during this course. See the course schedule for more information.  

This course will be conducted online with the exception of attending in-person on either 6/6 or 6/7 from 9-6pm. 

Requirements

       Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the eleventh-grade level.

 

       The student must be 17 years of age on or before the official end of course.

Textbook: Limmer, Daniel, & Michael F. O’Keefe. Emergency Care, 14th edition. Upper Saddle River, New Jersey: Pearson Education, Inc., 2020.

Additional fees associated with the course that student will be responsible for include the following; 

- EMS Testing $52.00

 - Platinum Planner $33.00

- Uniforms approximately $200.00
